Required Character Qualifications:

Purpose:

The Children's Ministry Director directly oversees Children's Ministries, connecting, training, teaching, and discipling children ages 2 to 11 within our church community.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, track, and oversee the vision and mission for the Children’s Ministry, ages 2 to 11
• Institute a strategic implementation and evaluation plan to ensure programming is meeting the needs of the congregation and community.
• Recruit new volunteers to join the team through one-on-one conversations and church ministry fairs
• Train and equip volunteers; connect them with the Church administration to complete appropriate paperwork.
• Support the leadership team of KWCF by providing regular updates and constructive feedback on ways the children’s ministry can be more effective within the larger church body.
• Manage the Children’s Ministry budget and track year-to-date spending.
• Participate in staff meetings and retreats.
• Plan-2-Protect Trainer and/or Plan-2-Protect Administrator
• Ensure all required Plan-2-Protect or similar program requirements or guidelines are followed
• Oversee the Community Weekly Play Zone
• Oversee the VBS & Team Leaders
• Christmas – seek out and implement a play/Christmas program for Sunday Children’s Ministry (Nursery, Jr. Youth, Sr. Youth can be involved)
• Sunday Fun Days – organizing children ministry volunteers for monthly, summer outdoor events (Bouncy Castles, Games, Food, Kitchen)

Work Hours Expectations:

This position agrees to be engaged during the following core times:

• Wednesday Mornings: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM    (3 hours)
• Thursday Mornings: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM    (3 hours)
• Sunday Mornings: 8:45 AM - 1:45 PM      (5 hours)

• Flexible Hours: (9 hours remaining)

This time is to be used for:

• Preparing and planning the weekly Sunday Children’s curriculum and activities
• Connecting with parents and families
• Familiarize yourself with the appropriate curriculum for each age group and download and package weekly lesson plans.
• Communicating lesson material to volunteer teachers
• Scheduling volunteer teachers and helpers using Planning Centre
• Plan-2-Protect Training to assume P2P Trainer and/or P2P Administrator

• Planning and executing regular meetings with Sunday school volunteers
• Additional Weekday mornings – seasonal and/or as required
• Special events as needed.

Note: Additional hours for special events or ministry needs may be scheduled in consultation with church leadership. Flexibility is expected to accommodate the rhythms of ministry.
