Qualifications:

• Seeking individuals wanting a long-term career opportunity that has flexibility, is compassionate, caring, and with a genuine interest in improving the quality of life of others.
• We are seeking caregivers that are willing to take initiative and work well independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to speak and write well in English needed. The ability to speak another language is an asset!
• Must be able to take the bus and /or drive to work.
• Must live in the Nanaimo Area or immediate vicinity.
• A smartphone with data is necessary for schedule and reporting purposes.
• A criminal record check is required and 1 professional references are required.

We have ongoing relevant educational training modules to help you grow in your knowledge while you work.

Types of care we provide:

• Companionship.
• Light housekeeping.
• Meal preparation.
• Dementia Care
• Personal Care
• Laundry
• Outings/Taking clients to appointments (client based)
• Help client with bathing/toileting (client based)

Responsibilities:

• Provide compassionate care and support to residents in assisted living and nursing home settings.
• Assist with daily activities such as meal preparation, medication reminders, and personal hygiene.
• Engage with patients suffering from dementia or disabilities, ensuring their comfort and safety.
• Maintain a clean and organized living environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to monitor and report changes in patient conditions.

Job Types: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour

• Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Nanaimo, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• Driver's License and Reliable Vehicle (preferred)
