Board Directors and Committee Members
Join a dynamic governance team committed to realizing a vision to provide excellent, accessible, and integrated mental health, developmental and autism community-based services
Lumenus Community Services is a not-for-profit community services agency whose vision is to provide excellent, accessible, and integrated mental health, developmental and autism community-based services. Where there are gaps, Lumenus will create seamless connections – where there are obstacles or barriers, Lumenus will improve access. Where there is worry, there will be hope. Lumenus will do this in collaboration with our clients and partners. That is the bright future of Lumenus – where every client has the opportunity to be seen, be heard and to be well. Lumenus support infants, children, transitional-aged youth, adults and their families, with a focus on improving their development and mental well-being. Lumenus has a dynamic vision to be a modern, integrated organization committed to excellence and meeting the needs of existing and future clients.
Lumenus has a budget of over $90 million to serve 13,000 clients per year, and operates from 17 locations in Toronto, East York, Etobicoke, North York, Richmond Hill, and Scarborough, making it one of the largest agencies of its kind in the Greater Toronto Area. Lumenus believes in capitalizing on collective strengths, values, and expertise to provide high quality, accessible services, and is a leader in the development of a unique and broad continuum of service model.
The Board of Directors is the legal authority for the Agency, and therefore Directors share the Board’s collective legal and fiduciary responsibilities, in being responsible for the effective governance of the organization. Lumenus is seeking Board candidates with executive level leadership experience, current or past governance experience in the private or the public sectors, and who understand complex organizations. Lumenus is also looking to enhance the cultural and gender diversity composition of the Board to reflect the increasing diversity of the communities served. There is at present a need for a Board Director with specific expertise in government relations, financial oversight, risk management, and fundraising, and Committee Members with expertise in human resource strategy development and digital transformation.
