Job Description

Barista/Server (Casual) Location Vancouver, BC : Mon Pitou is hiring a part-time casual Barista/Server to join our team. This position ranges from 10-15 hours per week, based on business needs. Shifts are typically 5 hours, with the possibility of extension. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform tasks for closing the store (9 PM), and opening the store (as early as 7 AM)
• Complete coffee orders throughout the day using a state-of-the-art espresso machine.
• Work independently and oversee the entire storefront.
• Pack and sell our retail products, including on Uber.
• Package and store away retail meals.
• Organize and consolidate pastries sold throughout the afternoon.
• Build rapport with new customers and returning customers
• Liaise with other peers to help where needed.
• Proper cleaning and shut-down of coffee machine.
• Stocking/restocking of all in-store products and goods
• Organize, wash and maintain dish-ware.
• General housekeeping and maintenance.
• Professionally and knowledgeably represent the company.
• Prevent and minimize waste.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
• Must have Saturday and Sunday availability, and will be scheduled based on business needs. Candidates who cannot satisfy this requirement will not be considered.
• Evening availability is required for closing shifts.
• 1 year of experience as a barista in a busy fast-paced establishment is required.
• 6 months of serving is an asset
• Lightspeed POS experience is a strong asset.
• Ability to multitask, and think critically
• Proactive and self-motivated
• Strong communication and organization skills
• Collaborative, honest and dependable
• Fluent in English
