Description Posting closes on 4/2/2026 Pay Range: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour Under immediate supervision, this position is responsible for assisting with various tasks as required in Environmental Division.

- Conduct Phase I archeological surveys of highway corridors and contractor’s off-site use areas.
- Generate associated report documentation.
- GPS data collection
- Analysis of records check, historic maps, aerial imagery, and field data
- Perform a wide variety of tasks in a learning capacity.
Minimum Requirements Education and experience: Student pursuing the educational equivalent of an accredited bachelor’s degree or master's degree in archeology, anthropology, or a closely related field; have a cumulative grade point average of 2.0; and completion of 60 college hours toward this degree. A valid driver’s license is required.
Knowledge, skills and abilities: Basic knowledge and application of safe roadside work practices. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook. Basic knowledge of use of GPS equipment. Ability to effectively communicate (written and oral). Proactive and able to work independently. Dependable, well organized and detail oriented.
Physical requirements: Ability withstand fieldwork in various weather conditions, including ability to traverse rugged terrain.
Working conditions: Frequent statewide travel in a Department provided vehicle, including overnight trips for extended periods of time. Ability to perform assigned duties in all types of weather as well as other work conditions, e.g. noise, dust, fumes, roadside.
