Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Agile Coach to help transition our business from its existing work practices to infusing a real agile understanding from the top-down. The Agile Program Coach is an expert in agile methodologies, a proven thought leader, and collaborator responsible for working with Program teams to lead and execute training and coaching efforts for Medicaid business for the Next Generation Digital Agile Transformation Office. This role also includes supporting Program strategy, roadmap, processes, structures, guidelines, architecture, and creating communities of practice for Agile delivery. You will analyze the organization's existing infrastructure and implement improvements to help streamline processes and create efficiencies. Ultimately, you will play a key role in the long-term strategy across the entire organization, helping our teams to deliver better products in a faster, more efficient manner.

1. Facilitate Learning and Development:

   • Coach individuals, teams, and senior management in agile practices.
   • Communicate agile principles, scrum practices, and the overall operating model.
   • Identify valuable mentoring and coaching opportunities.

2. Training and Workshops:

   • Lead training sessions and workshops (virtually and in-person) for development and functional teams.
   • Focus on Lean-Agile methodologies, particularly SAFe, Scrum, and Kanban.
   • Willingness to travel 3-4 weeks each quarter.

3. Strategy and Implementation:

   • Define and support training, learning, and development strategies.
   • Create delivery plans, agile maturity assessments, and improvement backlogs.
   • Develop advanced trainer plans and solution roadmaps.

4. Agile Transformation Roadmap:

   • Collaborate with Program and teams to support the Agile transformation roadmap.
   • Promote a culture of continuous improvement.

5. Agile Work Management Tooling:

   • Define and socialize strategy in agile work management tooling.
   • Deliver training and coaching on tools like Miro, Rally, and Retrospective tools.

6. Metrics and Tracking:

   • Develop and track key metrics to gauge the maturity of teams.
   • Lead working groups to meet transformation deliverables.

• Knowledge of:

  • Multiple value streams of varying organizational complexities.
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) v5.
  • Agile discipline and broader knowledge of corporate finance, design thinking, and product management.

• Skills in:

  • 5+ years of Agile Coach/Management consulting experience.
  • 7+ years delivering Agile projects using Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe.
  • Facilitating small- and large-group sessions.
  • Strong leadership, education, and coaching skills.

• Ability to:

  • Implement agile techniques in different cultures and environments.
  • Drive organizational change in a dynamic environment.
  • Influence successfully within a matrix environment.
  • Communicate difficult concepts and facilitate large- and small-group sessions.

• Required: Bachelor's degree.
• Preferred: Master's degree.
• Certifications: SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), ICC-Client, SAFe Lean Portfolio Management (LPM).
• Licenses: SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE), SAFe Program Consultant Trainer (SPCT), advanced Agile Coaching certifications.
