Catholic Independent Schools of the Vancouver Archdiocese (the CISVA) operates 46 schools – 40 elementary and 6 high schools. About Established in 1982,
Our Lady of the Assumption School (OLA) is a co-ed elementary school from kindergarten to grade 7 serving families in the Tri-Cities and neighbouring areas. Over the years, we have grown from our humble beginnings in our parish portables, to becoming a highly reputable school with over 240 students.
Our school provides a variety of opportunities with various athletic and fine arts programs, as well as the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Program. At OLA, staff and students participate in many community outreach initiatives, including fundraisers for local and international non-profit organizations. The
Administrative Office Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the School Office Team. This position ensures the smooth operation of the school and assists in implementing policies, procedures, and regulations set by CISVA and the Ministry of Education and Child Care for Independent Schools in British Columbia.
Knowledge And Skills - Familiarity with modern office practices, procedures, and equipment
- Strong record-keeping and organizational skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Capable of working independently and managing tasks amidst interruptions
- Strong public relations skills with students, parents, staff, and the community
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively
Required Experience With Software - MAC OS
- MyEd BC
- MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Google Mail and Google Forms
- Mailchimp, Canva and PosterMyWall
