C ompany Profile

• This global real assets investment firm specializes in managing investments across a wide range of property types and geographies. With a strong focus on sustainability and long-term value creation, the firm offers both direct and indirect real estate investment solutions. It serves institutional investors, such as pension funds and insurance companies, by providing access to core, value-add, and opportunistic strategies.

The Role

• Oversee and execute various aspects of financial reporting and analysis for Japan, including but not limited to:
• Monthly and annual financial reporting
• Account reconciliations and variance analysis
• Tax reporting and cash flow monitoring
• Intercompany reconciliations and financial data consolidation
• Journal Entry & Transaction Review
• Review and validate journal entries and accounting classifications to ensure accuracy.
• Monitor subsystem transactions to confirm proper data flow through tables and sub-ledgers.
• Financial Statement Preparation
• Prepare key financial documents such as income statements, balance sheets, and other relevant reports in compliance with internal and external standards.
• System Updates & Data Management
• Maintain and update financial data in enterprise systems such as PeopleSoft, OneStream, OneSource, and Integrity in a timely and accurate manner.
• Variance Analysis
• Analyze accounting variances and prepare detailed variance explanation reports to support financial transparency and decision-making.
• Tax & Compliance Coordination
• Ensure compliance with local tax and accounting regulations, including:
• Coordination of annual accounts and tax return preparation
• Submission of monthly VAT statements
• Liaison with external advisors such as tax consultants and auditors
• Regulatory Compliance
• Assist in ensuring adherence to local GAAP and regulatory requirements, supporting audits and regulatory reviews as needed.

Y our Skills

• Experience with a Big Four accounting firm is considered a strong advantage.
• Knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and Japan GAAP, with the ability to apply these standards in a practical business context.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with enterprise financial systems and software is highly desirable. Preferred platforms include:
• ERP System: PeopleSoft Financials / Cadency/BlackLine/ Cognos TM1/ OneSource or equivalent systems
• Command of both written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate effectively in a global business environment.
